Trimble Schools to be in session on previously scheduled snow days

Classes will be in session for Trimble County students on two previously scheduled days off because of snow cancellations.
Trimble County Schools will be in session on Feb. 14 and March 14.
The February date was to be a professional development day for teachers. The March date was a scheduled break in the school calendar, Superintendent Marcia Dunaway said. Trimble County school board members approved the calendar change during a meeting Wednesday night.
The district already planned to use Presidents' Day on Feb. 17 as a snow make-up day.
Even though the school district included 10 built-in snow days in the school calendar, all of those dates have been used this year because of snow days.
Students' last day of school would be June 5 as of Wednesday's snow day, Dunaway said. An additional make-up day will be added since schools are closed today for winter weather.
Dunaway still expects more winter weather to affect the school calendar this year. Additional snow days will be approved by the school board and added to the end of the school calendar as needed.
Well I think it was really uncalled for to close school because the Lady Raiders went to a tourament! Not everyone in Trimble County wanted to go to the game!
