A controlled buy from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office led to the arrest of two people last week.

An informant purchased about $100 worth of methamphetamine from Howard R. Wentworth, 46, and Stephanie Grantham, 44, in a controlled setting in the Worthville area, Carroll County Deputy Sheriff J.T. Shaw said. The two people were taken into custody following the buy on April 16 and were interviewed at the sheriff's office by Shaw, before being lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.

Wentworth was arrested on preliminary charges of criminal mischief and trafficking in a controlled substance. Grantham was arrested on preliminary charges of trafficking in a controlled substance.

Wentworth had outstanding warrants from Florida and Georgia, Shaw said. Grantham also had a warrant from Florida.

Both remain lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
