Police arrested a man who almost struck a parked vehicle on drug charges.

Edmond C. Aldridge, 32, of Carrollton, almost hit a parked vehicle on Fifth Street near the U.S. Bank on Feb. 22, a Carroll County Sheriff's Office release said.

Deputy Sheriff Daniel Rose responded to the scene, where Aldridge agreed to a search of his vehicle. Rose found a needle with what was believed to be heroin residue inside, the release said.

Aldridge admitted to using heroin, police said, and was charged with possession of a controlled substance (heroin). He was lodged in the Carroll County Detention Center.
