WINTER FLIGHT AT KRUEGER LAKE
Wednesday, December 18, 2013 10:00 AM
Mickey Mitidiero, a recent transplant to Madison from Boca Raton, Fla., enjoys the chilly solitude while flying a remote-control airplane at Krueger Lake on Monday. Mitidiero said he had heard that the Madison Broken Wings Radio Control Model Airplane Club had a flying field at the Jefferson Proving Grounds, but when he saw the lake he decided to fly from there because his model plane can land on water and ice. Mitidiero said he is enjoying the cold weather, something he grew up with in Chicago, but had missed while living in Florida. "It's just too hot down there, I don't miss it."
