WRECK ON STATE ROAD 7
Friday, March 08, 2013 8:00 AM
A one-vehicle accident caused two people to be ejected from the car they were traveling in Thursday on State Road 7.
Driver Justin C. Jones, 25, of Lexington, and passenger Emily C. Tingle, 22, of Madison, were traveling northbound on State Road 7 near West County Road 1100-N in a 1990 Ford Mustang convertible when the vehicle left the roadway for an unknown reason. The accident happened around 4:13 p.m., Jefferson County Sheriff John Wallace said.
Jones told emergency responders that an on-coming vehicle swerved into his lane, according to the accident report. The car left the roadway and rolled before coming to a rest on its side in an empty field, Wallace said.
Jones and Tingle were initially transported to King's Daughters' Hospital with head and internal injuries. Tingle was transported to University of Louisville Hospital for chest and head trauma injuries, Wallace said. Tingle was listed in fair condition at U of L on Friday. Jones was no longer a registered patient at King's Daughters' Hospital Friday afternoon.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department.
