Warrants lead to arrest of 5 on drug charges
Courier Staff Report
Saturday, October 26, 2013 5:00 AM
Sheriff's deputies arrested five people Thursday night after executing simultaneous warrants related to the sale of marijuana and prescription drugs.
The following were arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and visiting or maintaining a common nuisance:
Terry L. Brinson, 43, North Vernon
Jeff Chadwell, 36, Madison
Brent A. Cooke, 37, Madison
Angela C. Kotouch, 35, Madison
SueAnn Forsythe Hooker, 31, Madison
All five were arrested at 628 W. Third St., which was one of two residences authorities searched. The other location was 1013 Park Ave.
Police received information about narcotics transactions taking place at the residence and were able to obtain search warrants for the residence.
At the Park Avenue location, police found several dollar coins and other old currency that could be linked to a March 2012 burglary in Moore's Hill.
Sheriff John Wallace said the five people arrested are not linked to the burglary, but the investigation is still ongoing.
The five who were arrested had their initial hearings Friday morning.
Prosecutors requested a 72-hour hold on them to determine what charges they would file.
In a filing with the court, prosecutors said likely charges included possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana and maintaining or visiting a common nuisance.
