ACCIDENT BLOCKS U.S. 421 SOUTH OF MILTON
Thursday, December 13, 2012 10:00 AM
Two vehicles collided on U.S. 421-N in Kentucky sending three people to the hospital with minor injuries Wednesday.
Ansel Cox, 38, of Bedford, was northbound in the 4000 block of U.S. 421 in a 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier when the vehicle dropped off of the right side of the road, Milton Volunteer Fire Chief Jason Long said. The driver overcorrected while trying to bring the vehicle back onto the roadway, striking a southbound Chevrolet pickup truck, Long said. The truck was driven by Thomas Schantz, 47, of Wyandotte, Mich.
Three people in the car were transported to King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison with minor injuries, Long said. No one in the truck was injured.
Fire crews received reports of the accident around 9 a.m. Both lanes of U.S. 421 were blocked because of the accident for about 45 minutes until crews could clear the scene. (Staff photo by Renee Bruck)
