Here's what's happening on the Milton-Madison Bridge Project:
Crews are placing rebar on the new truss in preparation for the first concrete deck pour which is scheduled for next week, weather permitting.
Scour protection work is completed at piers 3 and 4. Excavation continues at pier 5. Rock will be installed next week at pier 5, completing scour work. (Scour is caused by swiftly moving water past the piers and can cause erosion.)
Once river levels recede, work will be completed on the barge impact frames.
Work is progressing on the transition spans on both sides of the river.
