Another person arrested in child support roundup
Another of the people sought in a child support roundup conducted by the Carroll County Sheriff's Office, Carrollton Police Department and Kentucky State Police was arrested over the weekend.
Freddie Black, 30, was arrested in Boone County on charges from that county. He will be taken to Carroll County to face charges for flagrant non-support. Black is one of 22 sought for the felony charge. He was identified as being $40,100 in arrears.
"We are pleased to have another of these individuals in custody," said Carroll County Sheriff Jamie Kinman. "It is important to ensure that all those breaking the law are held accountable in our county."
Kentucky law provides that failure to pay more than $1,000 in child support is a Class D felony punishable by one to five years in prison. However, the county attorney's office noted that warrants can be issued for those who are less than $1,000 in arrears.
