SEMI-TRUCK ACCIDENT TEMPORARILY CLOSES KY 36
Tuesday, February 05, 2013 10:00 AM
A semi-truck and trailer involved in an accident closed KY 36 for a few hours on Monday.
The truck's driver, Ali P. Yousef of Kitchener, Ontario, was traveling west near the intersection of KY 36 and Hampton Lane when a vehicle in front of him applied its brakes, a Carroll County Sheriff's release said. Yousef told police he applied his brakes and the semi went off the south side of the road, causing it to jack-knife. The accident caused about 40 to 50 gallons of diesel fuel to spill on the roadway.
Fire units and police responded to reports of the accident around 3:45 p.m. The road reopened around 6:45 p.m., the release said. No injuries were reported.
The Carroll County Sheriff's Department, Westside Fire Department, Carroll County Rescue, Milton Fire and Rescue and Bedford Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
