Two Trimble County men were arrested Friday after state police served a search warrant at a home in Bedford, Ky.
Michael Beatty, 36, and David Bird, 22, both of Bedford, were in the home when Kentucky State Police officers arrived. During a search of the residence at 266 Doe Ridge Road, state police discovered several ingredients used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine, a release said. Troopers also found marijuana and drug paraphernalia along with several firearms which were seized from the home. A juvenile who was in the residence was removed and released to a guardian.
Beatty was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, endangering the welfare of a minor, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and failure to notify an address change. Bird was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Both were transported and lodged at the Carroll County Detention Center.
Trooper Jim Phelps is leading the ongoing investigation in the case.
