04: Dr. Marc Willage retired from King's Daughters' Health after two decades of service in Switzerland County.
05: The third stage of the demolition of the old Madison-Milton bridge brought down the span closest to the Madison shoreline.
05: Trimble County school board members rejected bids for the second phase of the athletic project. All of the bids submitted were more than $1 million over the school's approved project budget of $1.7 million.
07: Ron Holcroft fired the "Cub-Boom" cannon for the first time in more than a decade during the Madison homecoming game.
10: Historic Madison Inc. sold the St. Michael the Archangel Church rectory to John and Maureen Wurtz who plan to rehabilitate the building into a private dwelling. The building was constructed between 1859 and 1860.
13: Steve David announced his retirement from driving after 12 years with the Miss Madison Racing team.
13: Billy Ray Mertz, 46, and Robin Michelle Mertz, 34, pleaded not guilty after being arrested on allegations they neglected and starved their 23-year-old daughter who has Down syndrome.
19: The final span of the old Madison-Milton bridge was demolished by explosives.
21: The Jefferson County United Way kicked off its 2014 fundraising campaign by setting a goal of $360,000.
23: Civil War re-enactors from the 7th Indiana Light Artillery unit talked with visitors to the Eleutherian College 2013 Fall Celebration.
24: Crews began working on strengthening and widening bridge piers after the demolition of the old bridge.
27: A Trimble County Health Department official confirmed a local man was suspected of having bacterial meningitis.
