Robert Brierly

Robert Joseph "Bobby" Brierly, 68, of Milton, Ky., died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at his residence.

He was born July 16, 1944, in Trimble County, Ky., to Robert Ernest and Sally Kate Fitzgerald Brierly. He resided most of his life in Trimble County, Ky. He was first united in marriage to Linda Temple on Oct. 22, 1966. He was later untied in marriage to Shirley E. Gaines on Oct. 19, 1990. He worked early in life at the Sunoco Service Station in Trimble County. He was employed for more than 40 years as a machinist with Reliance Electric Company in Madison. He was baptized in and was a member of the Corn Creek Baptist Church. He was a member of Union Local 1109 International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He enjoyed watching television, wrestling, University of Kentucky athletics and mowing the grass. He was awaiting the birth of his seventh great-grandchild.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley E. Gaines Brierly; one son, Michael Joseph Brierly of Milton, Ky.; three daughters, Melissa Brierly Kendall of Milton, Ky., Melissa Jo Sharon of Erlanger, Ky., and Janet Nevins of Madison; two sisters, Linda Miller of Hanover and Brenda Dahlem of Madison; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Allen Brierly, who died Nov. 25, 1995; his parents; two brothers, Ernest Brierly and Donald Brierly; and one grandson.

The funeral will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in New Castle Cemetery in New Castle, Ky.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 3 p.m. until the service.

Linda L. Demaree, 66, of Madison, died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

Paul King

Paul Clarence King, 94, of Hanover, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1918, in Jefferson County, to Shelby C. and Sylvia Wilhelm King. He resided most of his early life near Hanover and was a 1936 graduate of Saluda High School. He attended electrical trade school and was a licensed electrician. He served in the Navy during World War II, rising to the rank of Electrician's Mate, First Class. He served in the Seabee's and was honorably discharged March 17, 1946. He was a member and worked as an union electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 481 for 67 years. He was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church, the Masons, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis and the Murat Shrine. He enjoyed his farm, hunting, fishing and traveling.

He is survived by two sons, Eric King of Gurnee, Ill., and Earl A. King of Indianapolis; one sister, Mina Firth of Madison; one granddaughter; and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Jenny" West King, whom he married Dec. 9, 1946, and who died Dec. 18, 2003; his parents; three sisters, Opal Richmond, Dessie Ford, and infant Tressie King, who died April 14, 1917; two brothers, Howard King and Roy King; one grandson; and one nephew.

The funeral will be at noon Wednesday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. A private graveside service and burial will be Thursday in New Prospect Cemetery near Hanover. Military honors will be conducted graveside by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service. A Masonic service will be conducted Wednesday at the funeral home by the Hanover Masonic Lodge 652 F. & A.M.

Thomas Turner, 65, of Burkesville, Ky., died Thursday, April 11, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 6, 1947, in Deputy, to James C. and Callie Watts Turner. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a former nurse at Cookeville Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Sue Turner; five children, Jackie Turner Wilson of O'Fallon, Ill., Anthony Turner of Owensboro, Ky., Lane Turner of Madison, and Seth Turner and Christian Turner, both of Burkesville, Ky.; four brothers, G.B. Turner of Owenton, Ky., Kenny Turner and George Turner, both of Bedford, Ky., and James Turner of Milton, Ky.; three sisters, Louise Sutter of Blocher, Cassie Bebham of Commiskey and Thelma Marcum of Worthfield; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings, Beulah Elkins, Cleta Morgan, O.V. Turner and Eula Mae Turner.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home in Burkesville, Ky. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery in Burkesville, Ky.
