Mary K. Clark, 83, of Louisville, Ky., died Monday, April 15, 2013, at her residence.

Alice Conard

Alice Carol Scales Conard, 74, of New Albany, formerly of Madison, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.

She was born Dec. 5, 1938, to John and Alla Scales.

She is survived by two children, Robert Fox III and Rena Kay Pearson; two siblings, Paul Scales and Gwinda Bower; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, William Allen Large; her parents; and three brothers, Ivory Scales, Hubert Scales and Donnie Scales.

Cremation was chosen. Burial will be held at a later date in Vernon Cemetery.

Legacy Funeral Center of Jeffersonville is in charge of arrangements.

Lowell Dennis

Lowell McKinley Dennis, 68, of Osgood, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.

He was born Sept. 24, 1944, in Bear Branch, to McKinley and Esther C. Richards Dennis. He was raised and attended school in Bear Branch. He served in Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a former truck driver for Robinson Trucking in Lawrenceburg for several years. He resided in Arizona most of his life, and the past four years in Osgood. He was raised in Olive Branch Baptist Church in Bear Branch.

He is survived by two sons, Steven Dennis of Indianapolis and Jeffery Dennis of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Leola Brinson of Benham; one brother, Ray Dennis of Bear Branch; and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gladys Alford and Betty J. Williams.

A graveside service and burial will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Olive Branch Cemetery in Bear Branch.

Friends may call at the cemetery from noon until 1 p.m. today.

Curtis Fleenor

Curtis Adrian Fleenor, 53, of Butlerville, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

He was born Sept. 22, 1959, in Alexandria, to Larry Fleenor and Nancy Walker. He was a 1977 graduate of Jennings County High School. He worked as a caregiver for Interim Health Care in Scottsburg and North Vernon for two years and had worked for Developmental Service Inc. in Seymour for two years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, carpentry and cooking.

He is survived by one son, Justin Fleenor of North Vernon; his parents, Larry Fleenor of California and Nancy Townsend of Madison; two sisters, Kathy Fritz of Wasilla, Alaska, and Maria Earl of Yuma, Ariz.; his companion, Martha Byar of Butlerville; and one grandchild.

A graveside service and burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Vernon Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

William "Reggie" Perry, 36, of Madison, died Friday, April 12, 2013.

Kenneth Potts

Kenneth L. Potts, 56, of Madison, died Sunday, April 14, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born Nov. 12, 1956, in Nelsonville, Ohio, to Kenneth LeRoy and Julia Anne Slingluff Potts. He was a 1975 graduate of the Nelsonville-York High School and earned degrees in engineering from Hocking College, Ohio University and West Virginia University. He began his career in Parkersburg, W. Va. at Corning Inc. and as a plant engineer for Dupont. He then worked for Crane Plumbing in Mansfield, Ohio. He moved to Madison and began working for Grote Industries as a maintenance manager. He was currently working as a maintenance planner for North American Stainless in Ghent, Ky. He was a member of Gideons International and the Green Road Baptist Church. He enjoyed reading and studying the King James Bible, serving in his church, tinkering with small engines, woodworking and hunting.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda McClain Potts, whom he married Dec. 4, 1982; one sister, Leeanna Potts of Nelsonville, Ohio; nine nieces and nephews; one great-aunt; and several other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one infant sibling.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Green Road Baptist Church, 432 Green Road. A committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Connett Cemetery, near Nelsonville, Ohio.

Friends may call at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service. Visitation will also be held Friday from noon to 2 p.m. at the Cardaras Funeral Home in Nelsonville, Ohio.

Cynthia Shepherd

Cynthia Rose Lockridge Shepherd, 72, formerly of Jefferson County, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born Oct. 6, 1940, to James Everett and Inez Virginia Lockridge. She was a 1958 graduate of Hanover High School.

She is survived by two daughters, Trina Proctor of Lexington, Ky., and Susan Lafferty of Nashville, Tenn.; two sisters, Wilma Jane O'Hara of Falmouth, Ky., and Joyce Ann Higdon of Bardstown, Ky.; one brother, John Robert Lockridge of Charlestown; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one son, Harold Drue Shepherd Jr.; her parents; and one brother, James Everett Lockridge Jr.

No services are scheduled. Cremation was chosen.



Philip Wright

Philip Wayne Wright, 86, of LaGrange, Ky., died Sunday, April 14, 2013.

He was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Trimble County, Ky., to Archie and Pauline Pyles Wright. He served in the Army. He was a farmer and enjoyed taking care of the land. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by two children, Philip "Petie" Wayne Wright Jr. of LaGrange, Ky., and Joyce Rahm of New Castle, Ky.; three siblings, Bradley Wright and Carroll Wright, both of LaGrange, Ky., and Helen Coombs of Jericho, Ky.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Mildred Conn Wright; and his parents.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. Burial will be in Sligo Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the service.
