Jeffrey Cottingham Sr.
Jeffrey Wayne Cottingham Sr., 57, of Madison, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.
He was born Nov. 6, 1956, in Bright, to Stanley and Sylvia Louden Cottingham. He was raised in Bright and was a 1975 graduate of East Central High School. He began serving in the Army in 1977, rising to the rank Private First Class. He worked as a drill instructor. He was a security guard in Ohio for several years. He worked as a truck driver for Buske Trucking for five years before becoming disabled. He attended Point of Grace Family Fellowship Church in Madison. He enjoyed playing the drums and driving a truck.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila Lucille Ramsey Cottingham, whom he married Dec. 17, 1997; two sons, Jeffrey Cottingham Jr. of Aurora and Matthew Cottingham of Cleves, Ohio; two step daughters, Elizabeth Downey and Rebecca Etzwiler, both of Madison; one step son, Glenn Etzwiler of Madison; two brothers, Stanley Cottingham of Arizona and Robert Cottingham of Florida; eight grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Linda Merrel; and one step daughter, Nichole Levell.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. A final salute will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted in the cemetery chapel.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Jeffrey Cottingham Memorial Fund. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Stephen Perry "Steve" Mello, 70, of Vevay, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
