Lewis "Louie" Barnes, 68, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky.
Cleon Denvil Davis, 84, of Bedford, Ky., died Wednesday April 23, 2014, at his residence.
He was born July 18, 1929, in Bedford, Ky., to Manuel and Hallie Craig Davis. He was an Army veteran, serving in the military police. He retired from the Kentucky State Reformatory in 2001. He enjoyed farming and raising large gardens in his retirement. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sue Arnett Davis; three daughters, Teresa A. Craig and Shonda Sue Brown, both of Bedford, Ky., and Jennilu Emerick of Louisville, Ky.; one son, Dwayne Tandy of Madison; one sister, Bertha Buchanan of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Denvil Davis; his parents; six sisters, Buelah Davis, Blanche Jackson, Leona Richmond, Lucy Rice, Flora Green and Theola Knox; four brothers, David Davis, Hubert Davis, Paul Davis and Manuel Davis; and one great-grandson.
A celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bedford, Ky.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Pleasant View Baptist Church Building Fund.
Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements.

H. Tootie Harrod
H. Tootie Bloom Harrod, 92 of Madison, died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
She was born May 28, 1921, in Madison, to Carl and Pauline Winkel Bloom. She retired from the Jefferson Proving Ground and had previously worked at the U.S. Shoe Factory and Kroger. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, the Cincinnati Reds and Indiana University basketball. She was awaiting the birth of a great-great grandchild.
She is survived by one son, James Greene Jr. of Ft. Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle L. Harrod, whom she married June 5, 1961 and who died May 2, 2006; her parents; two sisters, Louise Bloom Hoffman and Colette Casey; and one brother, Joseph Bloom.
A graveside service and burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be private.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Madison Riverfront Development Project. Contributions can be made through Vail Funeral Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.
