Virgil Burgin

Virgil Ray Burgin, 75, of Milton, Ky., died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at The Richwood in LaGrange, Ky.

He was born Feb. 14, 1938, in Crestwood, Ky., to Tom and Mary Frazier Burgin. He served in the Army. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Madison. He enjoyed hunting, caring for his lawn and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Dolly Jean Cull Burgin; five children, Bobby Burgin of Shelbyville, Ky., Terry Burgin of Turners Station, Ky., Sharon Burgin of Shelbyville, Ky., Ronnie Hunt of Milton, Ky., and David Hunt, of Pleasureville, Ky.; seven siblings,

George Burgin of Eminence, Ky., James Burgin and Vernon Burgin, both of Carrollton, Ky., Louise McIntosh, of Warsaw, Ky., Lorado Hanley of New Castle, Ky., Carolyn Warfield of Carrollton, Ky. and Mary Lee Preston of Franklinton, Ky.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Henry Burgin.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky.. Burial will be in the Bedford Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted graveside by the Army.

Tricia Lyon

Tricia Mae Stewart Lyon, 58, of Vevay, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born April 13, 1954, in Madison, to Loren H. and Dorothy E. Stewart Browning.

She was raised in Vevay and was a 1973 graduate of Switzerland County High School. She was a certified nursing assistant for Maxium Health Care Services in Jeffersonville and Interim Health Care Services in Lawrenceburg, until she became disabled in July 2012. She formerly worked at the Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vevay and at King's Daughters' Hospital. She attended the Vevay Nazarene Church. She enjoyed crocheting, working on crafts, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Wayne "Mike" Lyon, whom she married Oct. 27, 1973; one daughter, Michelle Smith of Louisville, Ky.; two sons, Jason Lyon of Vevay and Chad Lyon of Milan; one sister, Vickie D. McNay of Warsaw, Ky.; one brother, Richard D. Browning of Milan; 13 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother Samuel E. Stewart.

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 5 to 8 p.m.
