Ruby F. Stewart, 91, of Lexington, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 10, 1921, in Lexington, the daughter of Henry and Osa Trotter Amos. She was a retired nurse's aide for the Madison State Hospital. She was also a former employee of the I.C.I. Army Ammunition plant in Charlestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Russell Stewart, who died May 20, 1991; her parents; and several brothers and sisters.
She is survived by two sons, James C. Stewart of Scottsburg and Roger D. Stewart of Hanover; one half sister, Janet Amos of Francisco; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.

Velma Jo Kindoll Taylor, 83, of New Castle, Ky., formerly of Carrollton, Ky., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, in Shelbyville, Ky.
She was born Jan. 17, 1929, in Carroll County, Ky., the daughter of Otis and Bessie Kindle Kindoll. She retired from Conn Organ after 35 years of service. She was a member of Port Royal Baptist Church in Port Royal, Ky. and the Butler Generals Square Dance Club in Carrollton, Ky.
She is survived by three daughters, Tammy Beach of Carrollton, Ky., Sheila McAlister of Turners Station, Ky. and Cindy Chadwell of Carrollton, Ky.; two sisters, Geneva Smith of Miamisburg, Ohio and Joyce Raisor of Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles Eugene "Gene" Kindoll, Elmer Kindoll and Otis Kindoll; one sister, Corrine Trinkle; and one granddaughter.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Ky.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of the Bluegrass.

Maurice M. Thacker, 88, of Madison, died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty L. Hay Thacker, whom he married July 11, 1947, and who died April 20, 2010.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vail-Holt Funeral and Cremation Service. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted graveside.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 3 to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service. A final salute conducted by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion will follow the funeral service Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association or the American Stroke Association. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
