Elizabeth Higdon, 91, of Madison, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

Funeral arrangements on and additional information are pending at Vail-Holt Funeral and Cremation Service.



Sandra Nay

Sandra Hooker Nay, 73, of Seymour, formerly of Dupont, Hanover and Versailles, died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

She was born June 20, 1939, in Madison, the daughter of Verne and Louise Leinenweber Hooker. She was raised in Dupont and was a 1957 graduate of Dupont High School. She was a 1961 graduate of Indiana University and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She later earned a master's degree from Indiana University. She and her family resided in Versailles for 30 years. She taught second grade at South Ripley Elementary School for 19 years. She retired after 24 and a half years teaching elementary education. She enjoyed reading, shopping, animals and being with her daughters. She had resided in Seymour the last five years.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley R. Nay, whom she married April 11, 1963; two daughters, Alicia Nay of Seymour and Tobey Nay-Tucker of Fishers; two sisters, Joyce Ashbook of Hanover and Shirley Griffith of Pearland, Texas; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Monday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or the Ripley County Humane Society. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.

Patsy Redmon

Patsy Ann King Redmon 70, of Pendleton, Ky., died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Signature Healthcare in Bedford, Ky.

She was born Oct. 26, 1942, in Jefferson County, Ky., the daughter of Charles Christy and Virginia B. Clark King. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, painting, fishing and working puzzles.

She is survived by three children, Sandra E. Kopecki of Henry County, Ky., Clelland Ray Wilkerson Jr. of Pendleton, Ky. and Tammy Kay Crenshaw of Henry County, Ky.; and seven siblings, Charles King Jr. of Oldham County, Ky., Juanita Sue Simpson of Tennessee, Don King of Oldham County, Ky., Delores Phillips of Oldham County, Ky., Dorothy Wilkerson of Oldham County, Ky., Joyce Layman of Oldham County, Ky. and Sharon Ehrlanger of Louisville, Ky.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Rosetta Neese.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation was chosen.

Regina Walton

Regina Kay Walton, 42, of Hanover, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born May 22, 1970, in Lawrenceburg, the daughter of Gary Sidebottom and Colleen Hicks. She was a 1989 graduate of Switzerland County High School in Vevay and trained for her licensed practical nursing certification at Ivy Tech Community College in Madison in 1993. She cared for the sick and elderly as an LPN at the King's Daughters' Hospital, The Waters of Clifty Falls and other health care facilities in the area. She enjoyed reading, working puzzles, collecting elephants and snowmen and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gill Rivera; one son, Nicholas Thornton of Lexington; two daughters, Rachel Thornton of Lexington and Crystal Burks of Seymour; her mother and dad, Colleen and Norman Walton of East Enterprise; her father, Gary Sidebottom, and his companion, Carol Lee of Lawrenceburg; five sisters, Robin Taylor of Greendale, Kathryn Sebastian of Dillsboro, Norma Beach and Colleen Lay, both of East Enterprise, and Erin Rose of Florence; two grandchildren; and 10 nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at noon Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service.
