Pearl Byram

Pearl E. Cole Byram, 98, of Vevay, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at Swiss Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Vevay.

She was born Oct. 12, 1914, in Switzerland County, the daughter of Harvey E. and Nellie M. Newkirk Cole. She resided most of her life in East Enterprise. She worked at various jobs during her life. She did wallpapering and worked in her sister's restaurant, Rieman's Grocery Store and The Vevay Package Store. Following her husband's death, she moved to Switzer Square in Vevay for six years. She then moved to Swiss Villa Living Center in Vevay. She was a member of the East Enterprise Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed gardening, making quilts and caring for others. She also enjoyed children and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Donald W. Byram of Simpsonville, S.C., and Gailen D. Byram of Evansville; two daughters, Lois L. Ackerman of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Diane K. Byram of Greensburg; one sister, Leo Gulley of Indianapolis; two brothers, Alvin Cole and Emerson Cole, both of Fairview; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Park K. Byram, whom she married Dec. 18, 1934, and who died Sept. 8, 2002; her parents; five brothers, Raymond E. Cole, Hilbert K. Cole, Dilver Cole, Donald Cole and Wilford Cole; four sisters, Arlena Brown, Hazel Wiley, Golda Hebel and Mavis Scudder.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Robert McKinney

Robert "Bob" Stanley McKinney, 62, of Bedford, Ky., died Monday, Feb. 18, 2013, at his home.

He was born Feb. 13, 1951, in Trimble County, Ky., the son of Frank Stanley McKinney and Dorothy Butler McKinney. He grew up in Trimble County, Ky., attending school and graduating from Trimble County High School in 1969. He attended college and served in the Army National Guard. He worked as a construction representative for Dow Corning Chemical Plant, retiring in the fall of 2006. He enjoyed camping with his family and traveling. He also enjoyed classic muscle cars and University of Kentucky basketball. He enjoyed tinkering with technology. He served on the school board in Trimble County for 12 years. He was a member of the Bedford Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee for many terms. He was also involved with his Sunday school class.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Diane Vannarsdall McKinney; two daughters, Jessica Bak of Windom, Minn., and Jenna Daulton of Bedford, Ky.; one brother, Jon McKinney of West Virginia; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bedford Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Barbara Siekbert

Barbara J. Rouse Siekbert, 75, of Bedford, Ky., died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the daughter of Louis and Mary Jean Middlehoff Rouse. She resided most of her life in Cincinnati, Ohio, and attended school there. She was united in marriage to Alfred Seta. She retired as a hostess with Federated Department Stores in Cincinnati, Ohio. She enjoyed animals and being with family. She had resided in Bedford, Ky., for the past 10 years.

She is survived by three sons, Carlo Seta of Cincinnati, Ohio, Anthony Seta and Joseph Seta of Erlanger, Ky.; one daughter, Christina Regan of Bedford, Ky.; one sister, Laura Henderson of Cincinnati, Ohio; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Dante Seta; and her parents.

No public services were held.
