Glenda Combs

Glenda Faye Combs, 66, of Lexington, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Scott Memorial Hospital.

She was born Nov. 4, 1946, in Hard Burley, Ky., to William and Mary Elizabeth Fugate Sizemore. She graduated from M.C. Napier High School in Perry County, Ky. She was a retired qualified medical assistant for William's Manor Nursing Home in Scottsburg.

She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Montgomery of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lydia Roll of Lexington and Tina Combs of Scottsburg; one sister, Peggy Jo Bruce of Lexington; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. today at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg. Cremation was chosen.

John Cutshall

John T. Cutshall, 42, of Lexington, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at South Central Indiana Hospice in Columbus.

Janet Thompson

Janet M. Thompson, 89, of Madison, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at The Waters of Clifty Falls.

She was born Feb. 24, 1924, in Madison, to John and Edna James Brinson. She was a life-long resident of Madison. She retired in 1987 as an inspector with the Conn Organ Company, where she served for 25 years. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge, the American Legion and the Madison Moose Lodge. She enjoyed bingo, reading and fixing things.

She is survived by five daughters, Carolyn A. Dean, Edna L. Case, Janice Faye Eggers, Mary Alice Thompson and Geannie Thompson, all of Madison; three sons, John W. Thompson, Robert J. Thompson and Larry W. Thompson, all of Madison; one sister, Ramona Potter of Madison; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Thompson, whom she married Sept. 24, 1940, and who died Aug. 13, 2005; one son, Harvey Raymond Thompson; her parents; two sisters; and three brothers.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Iretta Wainscott

Iretta Wainscott, 81, of Vevay, died Saturday, June 29, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Jan. 1, 1932, in Owen County, Ky., to Noah and Willena Bennett Wainscott. She was raised in Owen County, Ky., where she was a 1950 graduate and a championship basketball player at New Liberty High School. In 1951, she moved to Vevay, where she resided the past 62 years. In 1997, she retired as a stamper in the Cutting Department with the U.S. Shoe Factory in Vevay, after 46 years of service. She was a former employee at the Western Paper Goods Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a member of the Switzerland County Community Church in Vevay. She enjoyed bowling, swimming and going to the beach. She also enjoyed babysitting and taking care of children.

She is survived by two sisters, Alma Rayburn of Vevay and Sandy Tingle of Madison; two brothers, Brad Wainscott of Cumming, Ga. and Jeff Wainscott of Indianapolis; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Jerry Wainscott, Wallace Wainscott and Lenvill J. Wainscott.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery.
