Kenneth Cosby

Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Cosby, 72, of Madison, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 20, 1941, in Madison, to James E. and Hazel L. Watson Cosby. He worked part time in maintenance for the Madison Presbyterian Church for several years. He retired from Rexnord-Envirex in 2006 after many years of service to the company. He attended Broadway Second Baptist Church. He was a member of the Catfish Masters. He enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, watching Indiana University and Louisville Cardinals basketball, socializing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one son, Chester Moody of Cincinnati, Ohio; one daughter, Sarah Moody Richardson of Warsaw, Ky.; one sister, Faye Cosby Taylor of Louisville, Ky.; five brothers, James Cosby of Wabash, and Thomas Cosby, Jeff Cosby, Steve "Bill" Cosby and Marvin Cosby, all of Madison; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Ester Perry Cosby, who died May 3, 1990; his companion, Brenda Carol Rowlett, who died Dec. 1, 2008; his parents; two sisters, Bonita "Bonnie" Malone and Vanessa Tyree; and one granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Gregory Gilbert

Gregory Lynn "Greg" Gilbert, 58, of Gratis, Ohio, formerly of Deputy, died Thursday, July 10, 2014, at his residence.

James Holwager

James Ernest Holwager, 74, of North Vernon, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at his son's residence in Commiskey.

He was born June 25, 1940, in Lancaster, to Charles and Ruby Marshall Holwager. He served in the Army from 1958 to 1961. He retired after 48 years of service with Arvin's in Columbus. He was a member of Queensville Christian Church where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, dancing, bluegrass music and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Holwager of Commiskey and Randy Williams of Butlerville; four daughters, Jo Petty of Butlerville, Pam Branum and Paula Holwager, both of North Vernon, and Sharon Tice of Versailles, Indiana; three step-sons, David Rucker of North Vernon, Ernie McNeal of Nevada and Rob Tillett of Scipio; two step-daughters, Valerie Maxwell of North Vernon and Shellie Hutchinson of Taylorsville; six brothers, George Holwager of Lancaster, Fred Holwager of Seymour, John Holwager of Columbus, Roy Holwager and Joe Holwager, both of Edinburgh, and Robert Holwager of Brunswick, Ga.; three sisters, Mabel Harrison of Madison, Emma Jo Mack of Lancaster and Mary Daugherty of Camby; 27 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Rucker Holwager, whom he married June 16, 1979, and who died April 15, 2009; his parents; one brother, Glenn Holwager; and two grandsons.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted graveside.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until the service.
