Ruth Herbert

Ruth Marie Herbert, 86, of Greensburg, died Monday, July 18, 2011.

She was born July, 5, 1925, in Rush County, the daughter of Edward J. and Ruth F. Mabee Schreiner. She was a homemaker until after she had her last child. She then went to work at the Garrett Garment Factory. After the factory closed, she worked at Randall's. In her retirement years, she enjoyed attending her grandchildren's many activities. She always remembered everybody's birthday and one of her favorite pastimes was picking out birthday cards to send to her family.

She is survived by 14 children, Don Herbert, Roberta Harpring, Richard Herbert, Wilma Cornn Young, Ruth Ann Williams, Catherine Wilson, Rosemary Ward, Barb Greiwe, Joe Herbert, Sue Burkhart, Walt Herbert, Bill Herbert and Lynn Redelman, all of Greensburg, and Jim Herbert of Columbus; two brothers, Frank Schreiner of Greensburg and Don Schreiner of Indianapolis; two sisters, Betty Sandhage of Edinburgh and Joan Tebbe of Madison; 42 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Herbert, who died Feb. 20, 1998; three brothers, Paul Schreiner, John Schreiner and Jim Schreiner; and one sister, Lucille Youngman.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rosalie Wall

Rosalie E. Wall, 85, of Columbus, died Monday, July 18, 2011, at Silver Oaks Health Campus in Columbus.

She was born Dec. 12, 1925, in Linton, the daughter of Thomas and Hazel Bennett Francis. She worked for the local Tuberculosis Association and later worked as a secretary for Ameritech. She retired in 1986. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Columbus and was a long-time member of Psi Iota Psi Sorority.

She is survived by her husband, George A. Wall, whom she married Oct. 18, 1946; one son, Dr. Robert E. Wall of Madison; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A private family service and burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.

There will be no visitation.
