Eslie Emerson Brown, 81, of Las Cruces, N.M., died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2012, in Las Cruces, N.M.
He was born Oct. 28, 1931, in Carroll County, Ky., to Walter and Cordia Sutter Brown. He was a Navy veteran and a truck driver. He was a member of English Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Herron Brown, whom he married Oct. 28, 1955.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Joseph Warren Brown.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at English Cemetery.
Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.

Ruth Wheeler Butler, 95, of Madison, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her residence.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
Carl Harrison Skirvin, 69, of Madison, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born Nov. 25, 1943, in Owenton, Ky., to Chester A. and Lousetia Conley Skirvin. He attended Carroll County High School. He enjoyed writing songs, singing, playing guitar and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He attended a Christian church.
He is survived by one daughter, Denisa Stigers of Worthville, Ky.; four sisters, Betty English of Austin, Linda Smith of Bedford, Ky., Emma King of Mauldin, S.C. and Kathy Douglas of Blue Springs, Mo.; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Della Mae; four brothers, Chester Skirvin Jr., Willis Skirvin, Richard Skirvin and Albert Vernon.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ghent Masonic Cemetery in Carroll County, Ky.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, P.O. Box 7794, Bloomington, IN 47407 or the Carl H. Skirvin Memorial Fund. Contribution cards are available at the Vail Funeral Chapel, which is in charge of arrangements.

Amanda Alene Kendall Vest, 27, of Hanover, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
She was born May 26, 1986, in Madison, to Michael D. and Kathy M. Craigmyle Kendall. She resided all of her life in Jefferson County and was a 2004 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. She received an associate's degree in early childhood development from Ivy Tech in 2009. She was known as "Miss Manda" by the kids at day care. She worked with Teddy Bear House Day Care in Hanover, then spent four years with Hook's Child Day Care in Madison. She was employed the past four years with the Hanover College Day Care. She enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, off-roading, riding a Harley Davidson, taking pictures, making crafts, scrapbooking and making people happy. She also enjoyed her pets, spending time with her family and making people laugh and having fun.
She is survived by her husband, Jason A. Vest, whom she married Nov. 18, 2006; her mother, Kathy M. Craigmyle Hacker and her husband, Bobby of Madison; her father, Michael D. Kendall and his wife, Melissa of Canaan; three sisters, Karen McMahan and Sarah Kendall, both of Madison, and Raeanne Franks of Cross Plains; one stepsister, Tarra Waters of Cincinnati, Ohio; one stepbrother, Cody Shafer of Madison; her maternal grandparents, Leonard and Alene Craigmyle of Madison; her paternal grandparents, William "Bill" and Violet Kendall of Canaan; two nephews; one niece; four uncles; four aunts; and several great-uncles, great-aunts, cousins and other relatives.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.
