Barbara Covington

Barbara Jane "Barb" Whitham Covington, 49, of East Enterprise, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born March 14, 1965, in Lawrenceburg, to William Milburn and Mildred Marie Craig Whitham. She was raised in Switzerland County and was a 1983 graduate of Switzerland County High School. She attended Ivy Tech Community College for two years. She was employed as an account clerk and bookkeeper for the Department of Child Services in Lawrenceburg for 28 years, starting in 1986. She resided in Switzerland County most of her life. She enjoyed boating, camping and writing poetry.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Eugene "Joe" Covington, whom she married Nov. 20, 1992; one daughter, MacKenzie Jane Covington of East Enterprise; twin sons, Mason Joseph Covington and Myles Jacob Covington, both of East Enterprise; her mother of East Enterprise; five brothers, Michael Whitham of Rising Sun, Robert Whitham, James Whitham and Kevin Whitham, all of East Enterprise and Steven Whitham of Florence; one sister, Karen Morton of Pleasant; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Donald E. Whitham and Dennis R. Whitham.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Expressions may take the form of donations to an education fund for her children. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Don S. Henderson, 78, of Madison, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

Patsy Newland

Patsy Elizabeth Wright Leep Newland, 74, of Martinsville, died Friday, June 13, 2014, in Mooresville.

She was born Dec. 22, 1939, in Carrollton, Ky., to Walter and Mary Smith Wright. She was employed as a cashier with Kroger for more than 25 years. She was also a manager for Ed Shock's Toy and Hobby Shop. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Indianapolis. She enjoyed handicrafts and watching "Days of Our Lives."

She is survived by five children, Richard Allen Newland, Kendra Steele, Steven Leep Newland, Angela Linares and Gina Leep Holland; one brother, Michael Wright; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Myron Leep, who died in 1967; her husband, Billie Ray Newland, who died in 2013; one brother, Leslie Wright; and one sister, Rosie Smith.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Flanner and Buchanan Funeral Center Decatur Township in Indianapolis. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Waverly.

Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
