Mary Evelyn Little Barnes, 92, of Madison, died Sunday, June 23, 2013, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
She was born Oct. 4, 1920, in Jefferson County, to Thomas Warren and Myrtle Virginia Breitenbach Little. She was raised on Greenbriar Ridge and attended Central High School. Early in life she worked as a clerk for Redman's Variety, Scott's Five and Dime Store and Wetzel's Drug Store. She last worked as a clerk for many years at Perry & Dunbar Drug Store, retiring at the age of 75. She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church in Trimble County, Ky. She was a fan of Indiana University basketball, Bobby Knight and the Miami Heat. She enjoyed all ball games and taped them to watch again. She also enjoyed cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Shirley Pyles of Madison; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Theodore Barnes, whom she married Sept. 24, 1938, and who died Aug. 10, 1994; one son, Paul Kenneth Barnes, who died Jan. 26, 1992; her parents; and one brother, Graham Little, and one grandson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Troy Pyles Memorial Scholarship. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.

Donald J. Sooy, 81, of Madison, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

Laura Ruth Kinnard Scroggins, 89, of North Vernon, formerly of Madison, died Monday, June 24, 2013, at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Lytle Funeral Chapel.
Emogene Westrick, 81, of Hanover, died Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 15, 1932, in Ghent, Ky., to Vernon and Kate Mefford Perkins. She was an employee of the Conn Organ Company and a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed singing and was a member of the Trimble County Saddle Club.
She is survived by one son, Randy Westrick of Milton, Ky.; one sister, Wanda Boldery of Milton, Ky.; and one granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Westrick, who died in 1999; one son, Dennis Westrick, who died in 2013; her parents; and one brother, Melvin Perkins.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Thursday from noon until the service.
Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
