Shane Carter

Shane Edward Carter, 29, of Lexington, died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, Ky. 

He was born April 19, 1984, in Seymour, to Timothy Carter and Cynthia Epple. He was a graduate of Scottsburg High School. He worked as a bricklayer for Sorenson Brick Layers in Vernon. He enjoyed fast cars, especially the Mustang Cobra. He also enjoyed nature, going on picnics and being with his children, family and friends.

He is survived by two children, Preston Shane Carter and Breonna Ranea Carter, both of Lexington; his parents, Timothy Carter of Brownstown, and Cynthia and Paul Epple of Lexington; five brothers, Shawn Carter and Seth Carter, both of Scottsburg, Chance Uebel of Lexington, Matt Jackson of Seymour and Chris Jackson of Austin; his grandparents, Jack and Nancy McIntosh of Commiskey, Regina McIntosh of North Vernon, Jewel Beach of Nebraska, Ind., and Charles and Nancy Carter of Crothersville,; three nephews; and several aunts and uncles.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial will be in Pisgah United Methodist Cemetery in Deputy.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a charity of the donor's choice. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Freda Fagin Rowlette Dice, 95, of Rapid City, S.D., formerly of Milton, Ky., died Thursday, June 27, 2013, at the Clarkson Healthcare Facility in Rapid City, S.D.

Donald O'Rear

Donald A. O'Rear, 75, of Brown County, died Wedensday, June 26, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 24, 1937, in Indianapolis, to Raymond and Helen Shepherd O'Rear. He was a Marine. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville. He enjoyed farming and caring for his animals, especially cats and horses. He also enjoyed gardening, fishing and mowing the lawn.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Hall, whom he married Oct. 1, 1994; one son, Craig O'Rear; one daughter, Chrissy Asbell; one stepson, Cory Atwell; one stepdaughter, Dana Crigler; two brothers, Jerry O'Rear and Steve O'Rear of Madison; one sister, Sharon Bardash; and six grandchildren.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. today at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Nashville.

Friends may call a the funeral home today from 10 a.m. until the service.
