Annette A. Humes, 58, of Lexington, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Nov. 2, 1954, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of William and Clara Mae McAtee Jemison. She was a graduate of Columbus North High School. She managed the C and S Lounge in Columbus, the Walmart Deli Department in Madison and the Boulder Shell Station. She also worked for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus. She was also self-employed as a seamstress. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Madison.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Humes, whom she married Sept. 22, 1972; one daughter, Charlene Humes of Lexington; one son, Shawn Humes of Lexington; three sisters, Evelin Mercado, Brenda Fisher and Ernestine Anderson, all of Columbus, Ohio; and one brother, Paul Beatty of Columbus, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Humes; one daughter, Clarissa Ann Humes; her parents; one sister, Rosetta Jemison; and two nephews.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be later in Springdale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Gary W. Rice, 61, of Tacoma, Wash., died Saturday, March 9, 2013.
He was born July 29, 1951, in Madison, the son of James and Margaret Rice. He served in the Army for 23 years.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Laura J. Rice; one daughter, Rebecca; two sons, Gary and Daniel; one sister, L. Jean Shelton; one brother, James Rice; two grandchildren; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
An urn committal service will be held at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash. Military honors will be conducted.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wounded Warriors Veterans Organization.

Robert S. Thomas
Robert S. "Heavy" Thomas, 82, of Carrollton, Ky., died Wednesday, March 13, 2013, in Carrollton, KY.
He was born April 27, 1930, in Carroll County, Ky., the son of John and Nettie Jones Thomas. He was a former bulldozer and heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Worthville Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons, Rob Thomas of Worthville, Ky., and Troy Aldridge and David Aldridge, both of Carrollton, Ky.; two daughters, Shelly Aldridge of Carrollton, Ky. and Rhonda Mikel of Warsaw, Ky.; one sister, Roonie Johnson of Carrollton, Ky.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Hoskins Thomas; two sons, Mike Aldridge and Jerry Craig; his parents; two sisters, City Spenneberg and Emmie Tingle; and three brothers, Bill Thomas, Boss Thomas and Buddy Thomas.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Family Worship Center in Carrollton, Ky. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Carrollton, Ky.
Friends may call at the church today from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the National Parkinson Foundation. Contributions can be made through Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky., which is in charge of arrangements.

Robert V. Thomas, 74, of Madison, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany.
