Leona Viola Brooks, 92, of Commiskey, formerly of Noble, Ill., died Sunday, March 23, 2013.
She was born Jan. 22, 1921, near Noble, Ill., to Walter and Anna Seessengood Allen. She worked at the Olney Shoe Factory and was a homemaker. She taught Sunday school for many years. She and her husband enjoyed camping with family and friends after they retired from farming. She had been living at the home of her daughter since 2007.
She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Graham of Commiskey; one son, Danny Brooks of Noble, Ill.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gideon Brooks Jr., whom she married Feb. 28, 1943, and who died Nov. 22, 2006; her parents; two brothers; and three sisters.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church in Noble, Ill. Burial will be in the Noble Prairie Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday from noon until the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to First Christian Church of Noble, Ill. Building Fund or Hospice of Indiana.

Richard Hare, 59, of Madison, died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his residence.

Nancy J. Hoskins Hughes, 95, of Carrollton, Ky., died Monday, March 25, 2013, at the Signature Health Care in Bedford, Ky.
She was born Feb. 20, 1918, in Lockport, Ky., to Harbin and Lida Maude Reese Hoskins. She was a retired manager for Riley's Men's Wear in Carrollton, Ky. She also worked in the Fabric and Shoe departments at Parkview Market in Carrollton, Ky. She was a member of the Democratic Women's Club. She was also a member of the Carrollton Christian Church, joining the church on Easter Sunday in 1942.
She is survived by one daughter, Hollace "Holly" Yowler of Bedford, Ky.; one son, Michael Edward Hughes of Fort Wayne; two brothers, Reuben Hoskins of Indianapolis and Robert Hoskins of Bedford, Ky.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. "Eke" Hughes, who died in 1994; her parents; three sisters, Catherine Burgess, Dorothy Romans and Mary Stalling; and three brothers, Elisha Hoskins, Harbin Hoskins and James Hoskins.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Carrollton Christian Church. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery of Carrollton, Ky.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Hurley A. Kidwell, 69, of Milton, Ky., died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 17, 1943, in Wise's Landing, Ky., to Frank A. and Ethel Leona Brooks Kidwell. He was a truck driver. He used to work with quarter horses. In the 1980s he owned and operated the pool hall "Hurley's Hangout." He enjoyed tinkering outside, doing odd jobs and working with goats with his dog.
He is survived by his wife, Rose A. Kidwell; one son, Doug Kidwell of Bedford, Ky.; two daughters, Tina Wise and Leanna Liter, both of Milton, Ky.; one step son, Charles Gaylord of Hanover; one step daughter, Angie Overton of Hanover; two sisters, Elaine Williams of Bedford, Ky., and Catherine Pyles of Carrollton, Ky.; one brother, Buford Kidwell of Campbellsburg, Ky.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Linda Kidwell; three brothers, Robert Kidwell, Thurman Kidwell and Frederic Kidwell; and one niece.
A memorial service will be at 8 p.m. today at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. Cremation was chosen.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 p.m. until the service.

Anford Miller Jr.
Anford Miller Jr., 53, of Radcliff, Ky., died Sunday, March 24, 2013, at his residence.
He was born July 26, 1959, in Clarkson, Ky., to Anford Sr. and Ellner Vibbart Miller Simons. He was a licensed master electrician and owner of AM Electric. He became a Christian on March 20, 2005. He was a member of the Central Kentucky Tea Party Patriots. He was an active member of God's Way Church in Leitchfield, Ky. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Romans, formerly of Milton, Ky.; his mother of Leitchfield, Ky.; three step daughters, Jennifer Arnell Fields of Upton, Ky., Jessica Arnell of Clarkson, Ky., and Anita Potter Harned of Mount Washington, Ky.; two brothers, Marcus "Dino" Miller of Louisville, Ky. and Marvin Miller of Jeffersonville; one sister, Darlene Miller of Louisville, Ky.; three grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. CDT Thursday at the McGrew General Baptist Church in Anneta, Ky. Burial will be in the Gibson Cemetery in Clarkson, Ky.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday after 2 p.m. and Thursday from 9 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hosparus of Central Kentucky or Gideons International.
