Lois Marie Callis, 79, of Bedford, Ky., died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
She was born July 13, 1933, in Milton, Ky., to Allen and Bernice Wilson Hudson. She enjoyed spending time outside, especially in her garden. She was a member of Milton Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Glenford Dale Callis; three children, Brenda Hawkins, Larry Dale Callis and Sherry Wentworth; one sister, Shirley Hudson Ginn; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by one son, Gary David Callis; her parents; and one sister, Zana Cheek.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bedford Baptist Church. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Diabetes Association. Contribution cards are available at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky., which is in charge of arrangements.

Ann Kirstine Nielsen Ellis, 75, of Madison, died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at her residence.
She was born April 6, 1938, in Copenhagen, Denmark, to Gotfred and Esther Ragborg Nielsen. She was raised in the suburbs of Copenhagen. After high school, she completed nursing school at Bispebjerg Hospital in Copenhagen where she worked as a registered nurse for three years. She moved to Massachusetts as an exchange registered nurse in 1963 and worked in nursing at Massachusetts Memorial Hospital in Boston. She and her family moved to Madison on Sept. 15, 1969. She was also a businesswoman and co-owner of The Floating Cow gift shop in Madison. She enjoyed devoting time to her home and her sons. She also enjoyed entertaining, cooking, gardening, reading, wildflowers, bird watching, traveling and music, especially Mozart. She loved animals of all kinds. She was raised in the Lutheran faith and enjoyed participating in the King's Daughters' Hospital Women's Medical Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Ellis, whom she married Oct. 4, 1963; four sons, Peter Ellis of Madison, Michael Ellis of Cincinnati, Ohio; Nicholas Ellis of Madison and Mark Ellis of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one brother, Hans Ragburg of Sengeloese, Denmark; one sister, Lis Ragborg of Sengeloese, Denmark; one grandson; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Gerd "Loejse" Kolind.
A private celebration of life service will be held at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or the American Diabetes Association. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.

Rebecca Mae Aldridge McCane, 89, of Bedford, Ky., died Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Signature Health Care in Bedford, Ky.
She was born Nov. 13, 1923, in Trimble County, Ky., to Harvey and Eithel Jackson Aldridge. She cared for her family and the farm, where she and her husband raised corn, tobacco and dairy cattle. She also cared for a garden, canning what she raised. She enjoyed embroidery and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of the Living God in Bedford, Ky.
She is survived by six children, Linda Mahoney of Elkhart, Harvey McCane of Bedford, Ky., Willa Shadburn of Sulphur, Ky., Joyce McClain of Smithfield, Ky., Jimmy McCane of Woodward, Okla. and Teresa Rucker of Pleasureville, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McCane; her parents; and six siblings, Raymond Aldridge, Elizabeth Griffith, Vance Aldridge, Jay Aldridge, Ruby West and Alma Smith.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of the Living God in Bedford, Ky. Burial will be in Bedford Cemetery in Bedford, Ky.
Friends may call at Ransdell Funeral Home in Bedford, Ky. today from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.
