Robert A. "Bucky" Bennett, 63, of Madison, died Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 7, 1951, in Madison, to Robert White and Marjorie Bennett. He worked for the city in various capacities and also worked at Rotary Lift. He was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, and the Madison Moose Lodge 765 since 1972. He enjoyed being an outdoorsman, fishing, traveling, playing cards and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his companion, Rhonda Bennett-Hill; one brother, William A. Bennett; one sister Linda Biernum; seven nieces; and five nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lynn Bennett, whom he married Nov. 13, 1971, and who died March 9, 2010; his parents; and one sister, Naomi Bennett.
A special service will be conducted by members of the Moose Lodge at 3 p.m. Saturday at Vail Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will follow. Burial will be in private in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to MooseHeart. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
