Joyce Barnes

Joyce Ann Barnes, 54, of Dupont, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.

She was born Dec. 11, 1958, in Madison to James and Bonnie Adams Young. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed making crafts, going to yard sales, watching cooking shows, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Barnes Sr., whom she married Oct. 18, 1975; two sons, Jason Barnes of Madison and Paul William "Shorty" Barnes Jr. of Dupont; one daughter, Dwana Murphy of Versailles; one brother, Mitchell Young of North Vernon; one sister, Kathy Thompson of North Vernon; and seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Barnes; her parents; two brothers, Roger Young and Larry Young; and one aunt.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon. Burial will be in Dupont Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Phyllis Delaney

A memorial service for Phyllis Joan "Annie" Delaney, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Vail-Holt Funeral and Cremation Service. A reception will follow the service at Crooked Creek Senior Community Park.

Delaney, 72, of Madison, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at her residence.

David Huy Jr.

David William Huy Jr., 46, of Moss Point, Miss., formerly of Madison, died Saturday, March 30, 2013, at his residence.

He was born April 29, 1966, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to David William Sr. and Linda Carol Delay Huy. He lived most of his life in Jefferson County. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in North Vernon. He was self-employed as a carpenter and worked for Adam Davis Contracting for several years. After Hurricane Katrina, he worked as a private contractor rebuilding homes. He had resided the past 10 years in Moss Point, Miss. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the St. John's Catholic Church in Pascagoula, Miss. He also was a member of the Carpenters Union in Alabama and the Motorcycle Club in Moss Point, Miss. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, woodworking, carpentry and his family.

He is survived by three daughters, Olivia Huy of Hanover and Audria Viers and Heather Huy, both of North Vernon; three sons, Joshua Huy and Jeremy Huy, both of Hazard, Ky., and Dustin Stroud of Madison; his parents of Moss Point, Miss.; four grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Louise Delay and Phillip and Helen Huy.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in St. Patrick Cemetery.

Eunice Ledford

Eunice D. Ledford, 73, of Canaan, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Ross Manor in Dillsboro.

He was born March 19, 1940, in Clay County, Ky., to Pearl and Lillie Colwell Ledford. He was a self-employed truck driver, retiring in 1982. He attended the First Baptist Church in Dillsboro.

He is survived by four brothers, Charles Ledford of Englewood, Ohio, Arvil Ledford of Dayton, Ohio, Seldon Ledford of Crete, Ill., and Hubert Ledford of Eaton, Ohio; and one sister, Donnetta Pool of Greensburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, J. M. Ledford; and two sisters, Mary Ledford and Bettie Bishop.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. A graveside service and burial will be at noon Friday at Laurel Point Cemetery near Oneida, Ky.

Baxter McGee

Baxter B. McGee, 63, of Madison, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Louisville, Ky.

He was born Oct. 25, 1949, in Madison, to Baxter E. and Erma A. Furnish McGee. He was an Army veteran, serving two tours in Vietnam. He was a tow-boat captain for Commercial Barge Lines for more than 30 years. He had his tow-boat pilot's license from 1980, until his retirement in 2010. He was a member of the Tri State County Club. He enjoyed gardening, woodwork, fishing and reading. He also enjoyed the outdoors and helping his friends.

He is survived by one sister, Ruth A Lapine of Madison; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father; and his mother.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Dupont Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted graveside by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
