Mary Craig

Mary Kathryn Hoffmann Craig, 84, of Madison, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, in Madison.

She was born April 9, 1929, in Madison, to Edward C. and Ethel Alexander Hoffmann. She resided most all of her life in Madison and was a 1947 graduate of North Madison High School, where she was a cheerleader. She was employed early in life at Harper's Drug Store and as an operator with the Old Madison Telephone Co. She had served as vice president of Craig Toyota since 1990. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and served on the Altar Society. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Madison Moose Lodge 765. She enjoyed spending the winter at Fort Myers, Fla., and volunteering at the Catholic schools. She also enjoyed golfing, sewing and cooking.

She is survived by her husband, James A. Craig, whom she married Feb. 4, 1950; four sons, Tony Craig of Milford, Conn., and Joe Craig, John Craig and Andy Craig, all of Madison; one daughter, Judy Stenftenagel of Loveland, Ohio; one sister, Mae Sommer of Madison; one brother, Phillip Hoffmann of Madison; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Bettie Jenkins, Anna Thevenow and Rosemary Geyman.

The funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.

Norbert Maddox

Norbert H. "Norb" Maddox, 84, of Hanover, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

He was born March 22, 1929, in Madison, to Noble and Oceal Robbins Maddox. He was a 1948 graduate of North Madison High School where he was on the varsity basketball team. He served in the Navy from 1950 to March 1953, rising to the rank of Gunner's Mate during the Korean War. He worked for 12 years in the coal yard at the Indiana-Kentucky Electric Corp. He also worked for 14 years as a sergeant in security for the Charlestown Ammunition Plant. He was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church and Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Ricky Wayne Maddox and Dennis Maddox, both of Hanover; one daughter, Karen Ashby of Hanover; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores L. Coons Maddox, whom he married July 30, 1950, and who died July 22, 2008; and his parents.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Prospect Baptist Church near Hanover. Burial will be in New Prospect Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted graveside by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion

Friends may call at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the church Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service. A final salute will be conducted by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion on Thursday at the church.

Juanita Williams

Juanita Williams, 84, of Milton, Ky., formerly of Mt. Eden, Ky., died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Spencer County, Ky., to Delbert and Lillie Hardesty Butts. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at King's Daughters' Hospital before her retirement. She was also a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Teresa Gorrell of Milton, Ky.; one son, Donald F. Williams of Carrollton, Ky.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Williams, who died in 2005; her parents; two brothers; and seven sisters.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, Ky. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the cemetery at Bagdad, Ky.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service.



Leslie Wright

Leslie E. "Les" Wright, 72, of Madison, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at the Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville.
