Lloyd Russell True, 90, of Charlestown, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
He was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Indianapolis, to Elba and Georgia Cornett True. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired Indiana State Police officer, serving for 21 years. He also worked on the Board of Education as a data processor for 17 years. He was a charter member of the Faternal Order of Police Lodge.
He is survived by two sons, George True of Madison and Richard True of Jeffersonville; one daughter, Helen Knoebel of Charlestown; one sister, Alleen Brown of Beech Grove; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lauvedia True; his parents; two brothers, Clarence True and Bob True; and one sister, Flo Haggard.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown. Burial will be in Charlestown Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service.
