Richard R. Beals, 67, of Milton, Ky., died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
He was born June 6, 1945, in Louisville, Ky., the son of James Malcolm and Rheanetta Huff Beals. He retired from Ford Motor Company where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, the Natural Athlete Strength Association Powerlifting where he held the national championship title, and of New Life Community Assembly of God Church and the Milton Christian Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, music, fishing, traveling and farming.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith "Judy" Hoagland Beals; two sons, Eric Beals of Greenville, and Caleb Beals of Mount Washington, Ky.; one daughter, Amanda Barnhart of Milton, Ky.; one brother, Thomas E. Beals of Villa Hills, Ky.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Life Community Assembly of God Church in Bedford, Ky. Burial will be at Louisville Memorial Gardens East in Louisville.
Friends may call at the church Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the service.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Life Community Assembly of God Church or Gideons International.

Donald G. Bentley, 70, of Madison, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre.
Leroy Thomas, 76, of Vevay, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 7, 1936, in Florence, the son of Sam E. and Mary R. Gross Thomas. He resided most of his life and attended school in Switzerland County. He was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. He attended Temple Baptist Church in Patriot. He enjoyed working, camping, and watching old westerns on television.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Betty S. Ritch Thomas; one son, Allen "Bubby" Thomas of Trenton, Ohio; one daughter, Susan Bess of Fairview; one brother, Samuel Brown Thomas of Vevay; four sisters, June Wainscott of French and Rita Peters, Betty Rider and Sue Thomas, all of Patriot; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death one son, Robert Lee Thomas, who died March 2, 2010; his parents; six brothers, James Edward Thomas, who died April 30, 1990, Howard Thomas, Richard Thomas, Bernard Thomas, William Paris Thomas, who died Nov. 26, 2005 and an infant brother; and two sisters, Barbara Thomas and Mary Francis Thomas.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home in Vevay. Burial will be in Vevay Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Monday from 11 a.m. until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
