Donald Buckner Egan, 67, of North Vernon, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his daughter's home in Union Town.
He was born Feb. 14, 1945, in New Castle, the son of William Everett and Goldie Florence Egan. He attended Zenas High School. He was an Army veteran. He worked at Muscatatuck State Developmental Center for four years. He retired from Enkei in Walesboro in July 2011 after 17 years as a paint operator. He enjoyed cars - especially old Chevys - NASCAR, cooking and baking pies.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Elois Biehle Egan, whom he married June 19, 1965; two sons, Donald Egan and Fred Egan, both of North Vernon; two daughters, Paula Hartwell of Union Town and Freda Egan of Columbus; one brother, Jackie Egan Wiley of Holton; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Eugene Egan, Art Egan, Paul Egan and Wilburn Egan; and one sister, Lucille Ryckman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations toward funeral expenses. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Donald Ray Hon Sr., 70, of Madison, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at his residence.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Lytle Funeral Chapel.
Doreen Faye McGee Kurosky, 88, of North Miami Beach, Fla., formerly of Jefferson County, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at her residence.
She was born July 6, 1924, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Earl and Eva Marie Heaton McGee. She was raised in Jefferson County and attended Indian-Kentuck Baptist Church in Canaan. She was a 1942 graduate of Central High School. She graduated from Case Western Reserve University/Cadet Nursing Corps as a registered nurse. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with the Veterans Affairs Hospitals in Cleveland and Miami, and Clifford Medical Practice and Parkway Regional Medical Center for 16 years. She retired in 1989. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in North Miami, Fla., and frequently attended First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
She is survived by two children, Robert Martin Kuroksy and Nancy Lee Kurosky, both of North Miami Beach, Fla.; one step daughter, Rosemary Kurosky Kungl of Akron, Ohio; one step son, John Martin Kurosky of Seattle, Wash.; one sister, Mary Lou McGee Ringwald of Indianapolis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Kurosky, whom she married Aug. 2, 1948, and who died Sept. 7, 1963; one son, Michael "Mickey" Louis Kurosky, who died March 29, 1986; her father, who died March 29, 1985; her mother, who died Jan. 19, 1994; three brothers, Robert "Bobby" McGee, who died Oct. 23, 1952, Richard E. "Fibber" McGee, who died April 14, 1968, and Frank Allen McGee, who died Jan. 10, 2010; one sister, Leora "Sissy" Backus, who died Jan. 17, 2004; and one aunt.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard St. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery on Hall's Ridge near Canaan. A lunch will follow at the church.
Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service.
