Christopher Evan "Chris" Alsop, 58, of Stanton, Calif., formerly of Madison, died Monday, Oct. 14, 2013, at his residence.
He was born Nov. 28, 1954, in Indianapolis, to Helm Porter and Vercie Wentworth Alsop. He was raised in Madison and attended both Madison Consolidated and Southwestern high schools. He served in the Army from April 6, 1972, to March 20, 1978, rising to the rank of Specialist Four, serving Company A 63rd Armored First Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He was also a member of the Army Reserves. He attended Indiana University Southeast. He worked as an electrician with the Madison State Hospital from 1978 to 1980, before moving to California. He was employed for nearly 30 years with R.C. Abato Electric Company in Orange County, Calif. He enjoyed sports and politics.
He is survived by four sons, Grant Keller, Michael Cole, Eric Alsop and Joshua Alsop; his stepmother, Ora Acre Alsop; one sister, Pamela Alsop Sandoz; two stepbrothers, Charles Acre and David Acre; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Brandon Keller; his father; his mother; one brother, Larry Alsop; and one aunt.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 15 at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Shelby Cemetery near Versailles. Graveside military honors will be conducted by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 12:30 p.m. until the service. A final salute will be conducted by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A celebration of life will follow the graveside ceremony at the Riverboat Inn.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Evergreen Hospice Care Inc. 17215 Studebaker Toad, Suite 100, Cerritos, CA 90703. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.

Mary Kathryn Craig, of Madison, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at her residence.

Helen M. Hatfield Dean, 83, of Vevay, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 23, 1930, in Harlan County, Ky., to Kenneth and Lilly Stiens Hatfield. She retired after 18 years of service as a line supervisor with Avon in Springdale, Ohio. She was a member of the Mt. Sterling Baptist Church in Vevay, where she played the organ for several years.
She is survived by two daughters, Jennie Rose Burkhart of Harlan, Ky., and Pam Burk of Vevay; one sister, Betty Lewellyn of Hamilton, Ohio; one brother, Sidney Hatfield of Fairfield, Ohio; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Otis Hatfield; one daughter, Debbie Spurlock; her parents; and one grandson.
Cremation was chosen. Burial will be at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Vail Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Norman Lee Eggers, 61, formerly of Madison, died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, in Beckley, W.Va.

Roger Lee Lewis, 62, of Madison, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born June 24, 1951, in Madison to Charles William Lewis and Mildred Lucille Ford Lewis. He was raised in Brooksburg and was a 1969 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. He attended the Brooksburg Baptist Church and was employed from 1962 to 1992 with Reliance Electric in Madison. He also worked for Demaree Motors, A. Datillo Fruit Company and Wayne Green's Small Engine Repair.
He enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, socializing and being with his family.
He is survived by his son, Derrick L. Lewis, of Deputy; three sisters, Ruth Ann Burton, of Hanover, Judy Peters of Madison and Janet Kay Macrander of Brooksburg; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rustin Ray Lewis; his parents; one brother, Robert Allen Lewis; and one brother-in-law, Darrell Burton.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. until the service on Tuesday.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations to the Brooksburg Cemetery Association or Hospice of King's Daughters' Hospital. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
Juanita Williams, 84, of Milton, Ky. died Friday, Nov. 8, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital. Funeral arrangements and other information are pending at the Wood-Oakley Funeral Home.
