Carl Allen, 103, of Milton, Ky., died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.
Funeral arrangements and additional information are pending at Wood-Oakley Funeral Home in Milton, Ky.
Joseph W. Braun, 59, of Deputy, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
He was born Jan. 13, 1954, in Saint Louis, Mo., to Maurice D. and Betty Jackson Braun. He moved to Madison in 1968 from Illinois. He graduated from Madison Consolidated High School in 1972 and began a 36-year career with the former Reliance Electric Company. After its closure in 2007, he worked for Asian USA in Seymour and Century Tube at Madison, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, woodworking, spoiling his grandchildren and his dog, and raising goats, cows and chickens.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy L. Smith Braun, whom he married Dec. 13, 1983; one step daughter, Lisa Geyman of Madison; his mother, Betty Augenstein of Warrensburg, Ill.; one brother, David Braun of Warrensburg, Ill.; one half sister, Lisa Propster of California; two grandchildren; one niece; three nephews; one great-niece; and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, who died in June 1987; his step father, Wayne Augenstein, who died in 2003; and his grandparents, George Merritt, James T. and Vera Jackson, and John and Katy Hoyle Braun.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Lytle Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Debra M. "Debbie" Crabill, 58, of Madison, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at her residence.

S. Richard Lowry
S. Richard Lowry, 79, of Deputy, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at The Waters of Clifty Falls.
He was born Oct. 6, 1934, in Scott County, to Stanley and Ersa Everhart Lowry. He spent his early life in Scott County and was a 1952 graduate of Deputy High School. He was employed for 43 years with CSX Railroad in Seymour as a signal maintainer, retiring Sept. 29, 1996. He also farmed in Deputy since 1968. He was a member of the Deputy Alumni Association, and Deputy Volunteer Fire Department, having served as president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. He attended Pisgah United Methodist Church and was a member of the Pisgah Cemetery Association. He enjoyed tinkering on his farm, being with family and friends and spending time at the Deputy Feed Mill.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Betty" Baker Lowry, whom he married Dec. 26, 1953; two sons, Tommy Lowry of Deputy and Todd Lowry of Greensburg; one sister, Betty Jean Neff of Deputy; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Allen Lowry, who died Oct. 22, 2000; his parents; and one brother, Russell Lowry, who died in 1998.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery near Deputy.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the service. Deputy Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Pisgah United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
