Dolores Aich

Dolores M. Glore Aich, 85, of Madison, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Hickory Creek of Greensburg.

She was born Aug. 23, 1928, in Connersville, to Gilbert and Mildred Robison Glore. She resided most of her life in Jefferson County. She was a 1945 graduate of North Madison High School. She was raised in the St. Patrick Catholic Church. After her marriage she became a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church until it closed. She worked for 10 years as a clerk at Ace Hardware. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and served on the altar society. She enjoyed crocheting, square dancing and being with her family. She also enjoyed vacationing in Florida with her family and being on the beach. She was a supporter of Shawe Memorial High School.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Aich of Indianapolis, and Millie Kinman and Marie Royalty, both of Madison; one son, Robert L. Aich of Niceville, Fla.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Aich, whom she married June 29, 1946, and who died July 27, 2005; her father; her mother, Mildred P. Robison Glore Richardson; and two sisters, Gilberta Thorne, who died in 2004, and Christine G. "Bessie" Robinson, who died May 10, 2013.

A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Chapel. Burial will be in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in China.

Friends may call at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Nellie Brooks

Nellie Katherine Brooks, 90, of Greenwood, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at Kindred Healthcare in Greenwood.

She was born Jan. 8, 1923, in Madison, to Charles F. and Amanda M. Warren Schuck. She retired in 1989 from Grote Industries.

She is survived by one daughter, Janice Skirvin of Greenwood; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one nephew; one great niece; one great nephew; one great-great niece; and one great-great nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Louise Jones and Rosamae Imel; and four brothers: Ben Schuck, Bob Schuck, Jim Schuck and Jake Schuck.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the service.

Lois Bruce

Lois Ann Edwards Bruce, 68, of Vevay, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at her residence.

She was born July 12, 1945, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Marvin L. and Treasa J. Scroggins Edwards. She was a 1963 graduate of Bracken County High School in Brooksville, Ky. She was a former reservation and PBX operator at Belterra Casino Resort from July 2000 to 2008. She was formerly employed at the Vevay and Rising Sun Family Dollar stores from June 1993 to July 2000. She had resided in Switzerland County since 1964. She enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers, raising chickens, working puzzles and reading.

She is survived by her husband, Paul W. Bruce, whom she married July 12, 1964; three sons, Paul Schirmer Bruce of Rising Sun, Ather Harry Bruce of Lebanon, Ohio, and James Shelley Bruce of Florence; four daughters, Tina Ann Louderback of Rising Sun, Gloria B. Day of Mt. Sterling, Tracy D. Hines of Florence and Lura Fay Scudder of Vevay; three brothers, Gene Edwards of Milton, Ky., Wayne Edwards of Madison and Darrell Edwards of Port Richey, Fla.; four sisters, Alma Grace Paul of Ocala, Fla., Katherine Blevins of Alabama, Linda Sue Back of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Velma Jane Young of Excel, Ala.; 16 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dale Edwards; and one sister, Lillian Fay McMillan.

The funeral was scheduled for 11 a.m. today at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home. Burial will be in Napoleon Cemetery.

Visitation was held Sunday at the funeral home.

Vera Coleman

Vera G. Marshall Coleman, 99, of Commiskey, died Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013, at King's Daughters' Hospital.

She was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Lancaster, to Dempsey and Bertha Graper Marshall. She resided most of her life in Jefferson County, living in Indianapolis from 1943 to 1968. While living in Indianapolis she worked for the U.S. Corrugated Box Co. for 25 years. She worked part-time cleaning offices. She also worked for a short time at the enameling plant in Moores Hill. She enjoyed taking care of her home. She was a member of Lancaster Baptist Church

She is survived by one brother, John Kenneth Marshall of Lexington; two nieces and a nephew, who were her caregivers, Jeanne and George Holwager of Lancaster and Emma Jo Mack of Madison; and several other nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Coleman, whom she married Dec. 11, 1943, and who died Nov. 25, 1981; her parents; five sisters, Ruby Holwager, Lelia Cassidy, Florence Dolby, Mayme Craddock and Edna Fern Lockridge; and seven brothers, Leslie Marshall, Vincent Marshall, Rodney Marshall, Wayne Marshall, Paul Marshall, Harold Marshall and Lloyd Marshall.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Lancaster Baptist Church. Burial will be in Dupont Cemetery.

Virginia Pierce

Virginia Tommy Harmon Hammond Pierce, 86, of Hanover, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at the Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Prestonville, Ky., to Lloyd and Mary Foster Harmon. She resided most of her life in Jefferson County. She was united in marriage in April 1, 1944, to Joseph Hammond. She worked for many years at the U.S. Shoe Corp. and later at Walmart. She was also a homemaker. She was a Christian and enjoyed attending many different churches, and the services at Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center. She enjoyed sewing and being with her family. She was a member of Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary, a past president of the Madison Eagles Lodge and a member of the Madison Moose Lodge 765.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Hammond Case of Madison; four brothers, Gayle Harmon of Vevay, John Harmon and Keith Harmon, both of Trimble County, Ky., and Steve Harmon of Okeana, Ohio; six sisters, Opal Harmon of Madison, Frances McFarland of Vevay, Joyce Romans of Madison, Diane Hensley and Byrell Westrick, both of Carrollton, Ky., and Nadine McCane of Bedford, Ky.; two grandsons; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father, who died in 1977; her mother, who died in 1937; her stepmother, Lola Brown Harmon, who died in 1993; three brothers, Bobby Harmon, Dell Harmon and Ernest Harmon; and three sisters, Ruby Mae Harmon, Ernestine Harmon and Faye McQueary.

The funeral will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be private in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Ky.

Robert Wayne Wilson, 70, of English, Ky., died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Feb. 16, 1943, he was the son of the late Guy and Grace Wilson. He served in the Army. He worked as a truck driver for KOI.

He is survived by four daughters, Michelle Beaton, Melissa Ethridge, Laura Wilson and Jennifer Curry; one son, Russell Wilson; one sister, Minnie Thompson; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Wilson; his parents; four brothers: Wilford Wilson, Donald Wilson, Jerry Wayne Wilson and Guy Wilson Jr.; and one sister, Geraldine Robertson.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Graham-Dunn Funeral Home in Carrollton, Ky. Burial will be in English Cemetery.
