Congratulations to Cara Fox and Matt Forrester, recipients of awards announced by the Madison Area Chamber of Commerce at its annual meeting Wednesday night.

The Chamber, now in its 90th year, has been honoring businesses and individuals for many years. That's a testament to the quality of people involved in our community.

Forrester, CEO and president of River BanCorp, received the Jeff Garrett Community Service Award. Fox, owner of Little Golden Fox boutique, received the Business Citizenship Award.

Forrester has been involved in many community initiatives, including the startup of the nonprofit La Casa Amiga and development of Ivy Tech Community College. He has served on many boards including the Community Foundation, Girls Inc. and Hanover College Board of Trustees.

The Little Golden Fox boutique is a Main Street business success story. The shop recently moved to larger quarters at 602 W. Main St.

In announcing the winner, local businesswoman Lori Heitz noted that Fox has helped many local artists by displaying and selling their work.

Over the years, the Chamber awards have proven that there is one trait all the winners share ... They have a "can do" attitude that has brought them success.
