Jefferson County is home to many women who have had a great impact on the quality of life area residents enjoy.
Every year, a local woman is honored during the Speaking of Women's Health conference.
This year's day-long conference will be April 12 at Ivy Tech Community College. Nominations are now being accepted for this year's honoree.
Do you know a woman who embodies the spirit of the Speaking of Women's Health motto: "Blossom Into a New You?" A woman who has shown passion for bettering the lives of others through her commitment to health and wellbeing? Does she live and promote a healthy lifestyle?
Then she is a candidate.
Women promoting and living a healthy lifestyle can be mothers, sisters, girlfriends, co-workers, aunts and grandmothers... They're our support system - the women we laugh with when times are great and the first ones we call when we need advice.
Speaking of Women's Health's mission is to "educate women to make informed decisions about health, well-being and personal safety for themselves and their families."
If you know a woman who exemplifies a healthy lifestyle, nominate her to become a 2014 Speaking of Women's Health honoree. Send a nomination, including the nominee's name, address, occupation, professional affiliations and a description of why she should be honored to Ivy Tech Community College, Attn: Kathy Ayers, 590 Ivy Tech Drive, Madison, IN 47250 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
