Lunch policy unfair to students

To the editor:
Shame on Superintendent Studebaker-Bolinger and the members of the Madison School Board for deciding to implement a new policy on paying for school lunches.
You are always able to find money from various funds for projects like schools with glass floors, fancy fences, state of the art sports fields and even a crosswalk to benefit a fast food restaurant.
Yet you will further humiliate children that are more than likely already a target of bullying by their peers. If a child cannot pay for their lunch, it is unlikely they have the money to dress and have the confidence of those who do. You are making them stand out more with this.
No wonder parents are seeking school vouchers and removing their children from public schools.
I don't have children or grandchildren in your school system, however my tax money and vote mean I am still involved.
