To the editor:

Many thanks go to The Madison Courier for your coverage of the Women's Giving Circle. As a new source of funding in the community we appreciate the opportunity to get our message out. By the end of 2012 our goal is to have 200 members. As of today we have 184 members.

The goals of the Women's Giving Circle are to make a significant difference in the community by empowering women givers by contributing time, talents and monetary resources to women and family needs; to educate and increase awareness of local women and family needs; to provide social opportunities, events and exposure for women in our community.

We will accomplish these goals through once a year donations of $100 from each member. Of this $100 yearly gift, $75 will be granted to non-profits to address needs and $25 will be invested in our endowment at the Community Foundation of Madison and Jefferson County. In this way we will invest in the future for Jefferson County.

Membership can be accessed through a link at the Community Foundation website (www.cfmjc.org), by visiting the Community Foundation office at 214 E. Main St. or sending your check to P.O. Box 306, Madison.
