To the editor:

April 19 was a day to rejoice as the nation watched the second suspect in the Boston bombing captured.

But it was a day of sorrow for my grandchildren.

My granddaughter returned home to find one of her dogs dead, and the second dog was gravely ill.

In her anguish, she rushed the dog to the vet to save it. She was told it appeared the dog was poisoned and it needed to be put to sleep.

To the person who did this to these innocent dogs that could not protect themselves, I feel sorry for you.
