Armstrongs celebrate 40th anniversary

Richard and Cindy Bailey Armstrong of Madison will celebrate their 40th anniversary Sunday, July 14, 2013. The couple married July 14, 1973, at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mr. Armstrong has been the building inspector for Jefferson County since 1988. He is also a realtor, currently affiliated with Scott-Lynch Realty. He was a board member for many years with Ohio Valley Opportunities, a past president of the Jefferson County Historical Society, and a nearly life-long member of the Boy Scouts of America, currently affiliated with Troop 721.
Mrs. Armstrong is the director of the Madison Presbyterian Preschool, where she has worked since 1987. She taught third grade at Pope John Elementary school from 1972 to 1975. She is a former Cub Scout den leader with Pack 718, and former Girl Scout leader with Troop 122. She is also a long-time Sunday school teacher. She is involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Jefferson County.
They have two children, Todd Armstrong of Waukesha, Wis. and Alynza Henderson and husband Eric of Madison. They also have five grandchildren.
They will celebrate with a reception from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the Great Hall of Christ Episcopal Church. All family and friends are invited.
