Norman and Carolyn Crabtree of Madison will celebrate their 60th anniversary Thursday, April 4, 2013. The couple married April 4, 1953 at the First Baptist Church in Evansville. Rev. Rake presided over the ceremony.

Mr. Crabtree retired as a union lithographer. He continues to refinish pool tables and rebuild lawn mowers. He was an active member of the RCA Model Airplane Club of Louisville.

Mrs. Crabtree was an Alpha Chi at Purdue University. She is a homemaker and was named Mrs. Kentucky Suburban Homemaker in 1964. She made hand-sewn garments, sweaters, bedspreads and wall hangings.

They were both very active in their children's activities including scouting and sports. They were members of Beargrass Christian Church in St. Matthews and are currently members of the First Baptist Church in Madison They both enjoy playing bridge and spending time at their camp at Nolin Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Crabtree moved to Madison from Louisville, Ky. in June 2011 to be close to their son.

The couple has three children, Andy Crabtree and companion Julie Parton of Madison, Catherine Simmons and husband Jim of Boonville, and Jacie Stivers and husband Jim of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla. They also have seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

A celebration will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, April 7 at the First Baptist Church of Madison. All family and friends are invited. The couple will also celebrate with a private family luncheon.
