    Leroy and Nancy Butler Munier of Milton, Ky. celebrated their 65th anniversary on Sunday, Aug. 23. The couple married Aug. 23, 1950, at Mt. Byrd Christian Church in Milton, Ky. Pastor Robert Tandy officiated.

    Pepper likes attention and will stop whatever she is doing to be petted. She does not bark much and enjoys the outdoors. She is an English Coonhound mix and has a small animal prey drive. The 3- to 5-year-old is tricolor with ticking on her coat and weighs 58 pounds. She is $40 off her adoption and spay fees. The Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter currently has more than 13 dogs and puppies, and 31 cats and kittens available.     The Prince of Peace Summer Festival was in full swing by 6 p.m. Friday. The annual fundraising event held on the lawn in front of Pope John XXIII Elementary School hosts a number of carnival rides, food and activities for children and adults.
