    George Washington Carver. Rosa Parks. Ruby Bridges. Harriet Tubman. Martin Luther King. Frederick Douglass. They were all celebrated as great African American leaders this past week by kindergartners at E.O. Muncie Elementary School, as part of their studies focusing on Black History Month.

    Porsche is a sweet and affectionate 9- to 11-month-old puppy. She is a friendly girl that will warmly greet people. She is still a puppy and has some playful energy, however, she is well-behaved. Mary is a nice girl who enjoys being loved on. The silver-gray tabby is also independent and won’t be underfoot asking for attention. She will catch mice, if there are any around. The Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter currently has 13 dogs or puppies, and 10 cats or kittens available.     Not everyone is cut from the same cloth. For example, some people are gregarious while others tend to be more quiet and reserved. If you think about it, it’s our differences that make the world an interesting place. If we were all exactly the same, life would be colorless.
