    Gabal is a Labrador Retriever mix that will greet you with wiggles. The 1-year-old likes to play with balls and is still an active puppy that needs playtime and training. He gets along with other dogs, but they should be prepared to play. The Madison-Jefferson County Animal Shelter currently has more than 14 dogs and puppies, and 50 cats and kittens available.     I’m a fan of all kinds of books, but I’m especially fond of books that provide some important life lessons that we need to learn. The key is to insert these lessons without them being upfront and in-your-face, nor so hidden we miss them altogether. That’s not an easy thing to do, but when you come across such a book you know you’ve hit upon a gem.
