Behind-the-scenes tours resume this weekend at Lanier Mansion
Friday, March 08, 2013 10:00 AM
Specialized tours for viewing restricted areas of the Lanier Mansion return not shown on regular tours of the home begin this weekend.
Visitors will see areas of the mansion not viewed in regularly scheduled tours, including the basement, unfinished east wing and the mansion's cupola. Information about the site not included in standard tours will also be discussed and explained during the events.
Visitors should be aware that the tour includes climbing stairs and walking on uneven surfaces.
Tickets for the behind-the-scenes tours are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors age 60 and older and $5 for children ages 12 and younger. The behind-the-scenes tours at the Lanier Mansion, 601 W. First St., will take place at 4 p.m. on the second Saturday of each month through December.
Reservations are required for the tour, as space is limited. Visitors may make reservations by calling Gerry Reilly with the Lanier Mansion at 273-0556.
