Free event item listings must be in writing and hand-carried, mailed, faxed or e-mailed to The Madison Courier two weeks before the date of the activity or meeting. Community Lenten Service: The theme of the Greater Madison Ministerial Association's community Lenten service is "Preparing your heart, mind and soul to follow Jesus." The hour-long service starts at noon and features a 30-minute worship service followed by a 30-minute lunch. The Feb. 20 service will be held at Madison Presbyterian Church. The speaker will be pastor Jeff Jenkins. Donations will be accepted.
Spring Soup Supper: The First Apostolic Church, 111 Third St., Carrollton, Ky., will hold a spring soup supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 22 with soups, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. Donations will be accepted.
Soup Supper: The Ladies of St. John's Church will host their monthly soup supper Feb. 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in Wetzel Hall on East St. The menu will include chili, potato and bean soups, hot dogs, sandwiches, homemade desserts, coffee, tea and lemonade. The meal is $6. Carryout is available.
Women's Retreat: Kimberlin Creek Church, 4756 E. State Road 356, Scottsburg, will host a free women's retreat Feb. 22-23. Friday night events begin at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The retreat will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Breakfast and lunch will be served. For more information call (812) 866-5491.
Night Will Be No More: Calvary Baptist Church, 2632 Michigan Road, will host a free three-day conference Feb. 22-24. The conference is designed to provide biblical insight for those who struggle with depression and those who minister to them. The guest speaker will be Dr. Jeremy Pierre. Friday's sessions will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday's schedule will include breakfast at 8 a.m. followed by two sessions form 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday will include an open question and answer session at 9 a.m. followed by a worship service at 10 a.m. For more information call (812) 2733-2289.
The Dixie Melody Boys: Will perform at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street. Admission is $5 at the door. A free will offering will also be collected.

World Day of Prayer: A celebration of World Day of Prayer will be held at 10 a.m. March 1 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 412 W. Main St.
Taize: A Taize worship service will be held March 1 at 6:30 p.m. at Madison Presbyterian Church. Everyone is welcome. Taize services will be held on the first Friday of the month at Madison Presbyterian Church, 202 Broadway and on the third Friday of each month at Hanover Presbyterian Church, 174 East Main Street, Hanover.
The Old Paths: Will perform at 7 p.m. March 1 at North Madison Baptist Church, 1906 Orchard Street. Admission is $5 at the door. A free will offering will also be collected.
High Tea: Trinity United Methodist Church will host a high tea from 3 to 5 p.m. March 2 with afternoon tea and treats. Tickets are $25. Proceeds will go towards the Trinity Shoe Program, which provides shoes for children in our community. For tickets call the church at (812) 265-3059.
Creation Evidence Expo - Investigating the Beginning: Cornerstone Baptist Church, 221 W. Kuntz Road, Hanover, will host an expo in support of the conclusion that God created man. Speakers will be Pastor Fredrick W. Boyd Jr., executive director of the Creation Evidence Expo, and Dr. Jay Wile, textbook author. Services will be at 9:15 a.m., 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. March 3 and at 7 p.m. March 4-6. For more information call (812) 866-4030.
Celebrate Recovery: A Christ-centered recovery program for hurts, habits and hang-ups based on the beatitudes will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday at 1635 Oak Hill Drive. Sign up by calling (812) 493-4487.
