Event items must be in writing and hand-carried, mailed, faxed or e-mailed to The Madison Courier two weeks before the date of the activity or meeting. The McDougal Family: Will be at the Madison Consolidated High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 24. The family travels the country singing and sharing their story. Three of the family's four children have cystic fibrosis. Admission is free. The event is sponsored by the National Honors Society and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Soup Supper: The Ladies of St. John's Church will host a monthly soup supper Oct. 26 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu will include vegetable, potato and bean soup, a variety of sandwiches, hot dogs, a variety of desserts, lemonade, coffee and tea. The meal is $6. Carry out is available.
Soup Supper: North Madison Baptist Church will host a soup supper from 5 to 8 p.m. with soups, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. A free will offering will be accepted. All proceeds go to the church's building fund.
Chili, Bean and Cornbread Dinner: Milton United Methodist Church, 11100 Highway 421 North, Milton, Ky. will host a chili, bean and cornbread dinner and baked goods auction from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27.
Jason Wheeler: West Street Ministries, 307 West St., will host speaker Jason Wheeler, at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 28. Wheeler, who was saved during his time in prison, will present his testimony.
Smyrna-Monroe Presbyterian Church Homecoming: Smyrna-Monroe Presbyterian Church will host a homecoming Oct. 28 with a worship service at 11 a.m. followed by a pitch-in meal. There will be live music in the afternoon. All are welcome.
Trunk or Treat: New Bethel Church, 9248 W. New Bethel Road, will host trunk or treat from 4 to 6 p.m. The event will include bouncy slides, face painting, goody bags, games and prize drawings. A free supper will also be provided. A puppet show will begin at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome. For more information call (812) 866-3443.
John Lowery: West Street Ministries, 307 West St., will host the art ministry of Scottsburg's John Lowery, at 6 p.m. Oct. 28.
Trunk or Treat: North United Methodist Church, 2235 Allen St., will host the second annual trunk or treat event Oct. 31 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Harvest Festival: Hanover Baptist Church, 151 W. Main St., Hanover, will host a harvest festival/alternative Halloween event fro 6 to 8 p.m. The free event will offer games and activities for children along with candy, hot dogs, popcorn and drinks. Costumes are welcome, but organizers ask for no bloody or devilish costumes.
Trimble County Hymn Sing: Will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at Milton Baptist Church.
Taize: A Taize worship service will be held Nov. 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Madison Presbyterian Church. Everyone is welcome. Taize services will be held on the first Friday of the month at Madison Presbyterian Church, 202 Broadway and on the third Friday of each month at Hanover Presbyterian Church, 174 East Main Street, Hanover.
Bean and Craft Bazaar Fundraiser: The First Christian Church, 512 W. Main St., will host a bean and craft bazaar fundraiser from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church. The event will offer Christmas ornaments, crafts and holiday decorations. Lunch will begin at 11 a.m. For more information call (812) 265-3950. Proceeds go to support the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Jefferson County.
Craft and Food Bazaar: The First Baptist Church, 416 Vine St., will host the annual craft and food bazaar Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with handmade craft items, holiday items, wreaths and baked goods. Proceeds go to local and other missions.
Soup Super: West Madison Methodist Church, 1100 West Main St., will host a soup supper from 4 to 7 p.m. A free will offering will be collected.
Fall Soup and Sandwich Supper: Deputy United Methodist Church will host a fall soup and sandwich fundraiser from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 3 with an auction to follow. A free will donation will be accepted. The proceeds will go towards children in need attending Deputy School.
Joy in the Journey: A women's fellowship and Bible study will meet at 6 p.m. each Tuesday at A Step Back Restaurant in New Washington. The group is led by Jackie Osinski. For more information call (502) 468-6316.
Celebrate Recovery: A Christ-centered recovery program for hurts, habits and hang-ups based on the beatitudes will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday night starting Aug. 28 and every Thursday starting Aug. 30, at 1635 Oak Hill Drive. Sign up by calling (812) 493-4487. Starting Aug.
Jesus Clothes Closet: The Jesus Clothes Closet at Trinity United Methodist Church is open every Monday from 9 to 11 a.m. with free clothes for infants to adults. Use the church's Main Street entrance. Closed on holidays which fall on a Monday.
DivorceCare: A weekly seminar and support group for people who are separated or divorced meets every Thursday night from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. at Hanover Baptist Church, 151 W. Main St., Hanover. For more information call (812) 866-3073.
